Bisley, Brigman, Cho, Igle, McGuiness, and Ordway Join BALTIMORE COMIC CON 2018

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - July 10, 2018 - Baltimore's Inner Harbor sees the return of the Baltimore Comic-Con on September 28-30, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Buy your tickets online. The Baltimore Comic-Con is thrilled to announce the addition of comic superstars Simon Bisley, June Brigman, Michael Cho, Jamal Igle, Ed McGuinness, and Jerry Ordway to our 2018 guest list.
Simon Bisley is a British comic book artist best known for his 1990s work on ABC Warriors, Lobo, and Slaine. His style, reliant on paints as well as inks, was strongly
influenced by Frank Frazetta and Bill Sienkiewicz, and took inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti, as well as traditional comics art. While still a student, Bisley did a painting of a robot holding a baby that a friend passed to Pat Mills, and inspired Mills to relaunch the ABC Warriors strip in 2000AD, with Bisley as artist, in 1987. Other noteworthy contributions include regular contributions to Heavy Metal, and he has recently done covers for Factory from Titan Comics,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Bodycount from IDW Publishing, and Harley's Little Black Book from DC Comics.
June Brigman has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She studied
art at the University of Georgia, but her illustrations are based on a lifetime of sketching. Brigman is the co-creator of thePower Pack series from Marvel Comics. She illustrated the Brenda Starr syndicated comic str
ip for 15 years. She currently teaches part time in the Sequential Art Department of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta branch. June received the San Diego Comic-Con Ink Pot Award in 2014. Her recent work can be seen on variant covers of Marvel Comics titles such asGeneration X, Hulk, Inhumans Prime, Jean Grey, andThe Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
Michael Cho is a freelance cartoonist/
illustrator based in Toronto. Michael has drawn a
large variety of covers and a few stories for publishers including Marvel, DC, Image, BOOM! Studios, and others. He's also received some awards for his work along the way. His first graphic novel, Shoplifter, was published by Pantheon and debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List. He is currently working on a follow up project.
Jamal Igle began his career in comics at the early age of 17,
working as intern at DC while attending the High School of Art and Design. He began penciling full-time in 1993 and his body of work includes lenthy runs on Firestorm, Nightwing, and Supergirl at DC. More recently, Igle took on the role of Vice President of Marketing at Action Lab Entertainment, where he published his Molly Danger and Venture titles. His work in AHOY Comics' Wrong Earth debuts in September, 2018, and his Jughead: The Hunger variant covers can be seen in Archie Comics.
Ed McGuinness broke into the comic industry in 1995, working on three issues of Harris Comics' Vengeance of Vampirella. After working on a few titles for Awesome
Entertainment, including Fighting American and Youngblood, he took over art duties on Marvel Comics'Deadpool in 1998. Since then, he as worked on such titles as Captain America & Bucky, Captain Marvel, Mr. Majestic, ThunderCats, Ultimate Enemy, and World War Hulk: X-Men, as well as original covers for Wizardmagazine. He has recently been handling art duties on Marvel's Avengers.
After an initial foray into fanzines, Jerry Ordway found work
at DC Comics as a result of a talent search at the 1980 Chicago Comicon, starting on anthology titles such as Mystery in Space and Weird War Tales. An artist in his own right, he is renowned for his inking work at DC Comics, including the industry-changing Crisis on Infinite Earths, Zero Hour: Crisis in Time, and Countdown, as well as runs on Superman, Wonder Woman, and JLA, as well as writing and painting The Power of Shazam! OGN and writing the monthly series that followed.
"What an amazing array of creators" said Marc Nathan, show promoter for the Baltimore Comic-Con. "This group of guests has created a body of work that is significant to comics history, needs to be seen by any comics fan, and includes seminal titles and stories in comics history. Our fans are going to have a heck of a time picking out what they're going to bring to get signed!"
