Bayern Munich cruises to an easy win over DC UNITED
On a hot sweltering night, fans turned out in record numbers to see DC United play against German giants, Bayern Munich. While red and black kits usually dominate Audi Field when DC United play, the majority were Bayern supporters who got a rare chance to see the likes of Thomas Mueller, Manuel Neuer and new signings Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt in action. Also, it was a historic night as Sadio Mane, formerly of Liverpool FC, scored his debut goal as a new member of the team within the first minutes of the game by way of a penalty kick.

Some fans were disappointed because some of their favorite stars would not be there. One in particular would be Robert Lewandowksi as he recently transferred to Barcelona. Even though some of their favorite players were gone, the German side was still filled with a capable roster.

Despite Lewandowski’s departure, fans went away satisfied as Bayern Munich cruised to a 6-2 win. Signs seem to point that another year of dominance in the Bundesliga is coming for Bayern. While DC United supporters were disappointed with this outcome, they are still hoping that the team’s fortunes will turn as Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney was hired to coach the team.
