2018 Fight Night DC EXCLUSIVE: Red Carpet w/ Boxers Icons & Cast of THEY FIGHT Doc

Back in November, I was fortunate to speak with a league of impressive boxers -both past & present - at the event known only as Fight Night. For uninitiated, the event, started by the late Joseph E. Robert, Jr. almost 30 years ago, was established as an opportunity to support a great cause – improving the lives of at-risk children throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Since its first event in 1990, the Fight Night fundraiser event has generated more than $65 million; fueling the not for profit Fight For Children’s work to improve the lives of children throughout our region. Funds raised from Fight Night 2018 are used to support Fight For Children’s mission to foster the physical, social-emotional, and academic development of current and aspiring student athletes by supporting quality youth sports programming in high-need communities throughout Washington, DC.

In lieu of the event's mission, many star-studded guests from the world of sports, TV & Film often come to support the event as well. Keeping that idea in mind, this year continued the tradition, as the event's Red Carpet saw many figures from the world of boxing: past (Ray Mancini, Buster Douglas) and present (Makaela Mayer, Ava Knight). Additionally, the Red Carpet also saw the cast of the THEY FIGHT Doc walk the carpet as well. Check out what they all had to say about the event as well as well their respective thoughts on the sport of boxing below.
