EXCLUSIVE: Composer Raphaelle Thibaut Talks DISNEY +'s NAT GEO Docuseries, SECRETS OF THE WHALES

Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Raphaelle Thibaut, the composer of Disney +'s Nat Geo docuseries, Secrets of the Whales. Produced by Red Rock Films, the 4-part docuseries (which also features Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron as its executive producer & Sigourney Weaver as its narrator) reveals new science and technology to spotlight whales as they make lifelong friendships, teach clan heritage and traditions to their young, and grieve deeply for the loss of loved ones. Filmed over three years in 24 global locations, throughout this epic journey, the series demonstrates how whales are far more complex and more like us than we ever imagined.

In our interview together, Thibaut opens up about how one episode commitment as composer developed into a job as the series solo composer. Additionally, she commented on the interesting challenges that the series provided to her as well. Check out the interview below...
